Proud Victorian and Edwardian homes built by Irish families were left to a loving community of outcasts is known today as the Castro. The Castro, eternally a neighborhood with a rich history and home to pioneers like Harvey Milk and the LGBTQ+ community, forever transformed the area in the 70s. Today, the area is completely prospering with many welcoming shops, restaurants, and nightlife; little is missing in the Castro.
